Supermoon Phenomena

Date Taken: 19/ 03/ 2011
Camera Used: Canon PowerShot SX20 IS

A "supermoon" is the coincidence of a full moon (or a new moon) with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, or perigee, leading to the technical name for a supermoon of the perigee-synergy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system. Massive moon = Perfect photography session.

Perth City at Night

Date Taken: 31/ 08/ 2010
Camera Used: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS

This picture of Perth City was taken from Kings Park. I took this last year when I was celebrating a friend's birthday in Kings Park. Not bad for a 10 Megapixel camera.

HMAS Ovens at Sunset

Date taken: 15/ 09/ 2011
Camera Used: Canon PowerShot SX20 IS

This picture was taken at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle. HMAS Ovens is a decommissioned Oberon class submarine. She was commissioned on the 18th of April 1969 and was officially decommissioned on the 1st of December 1995. She now serves as a museum ship at the WA Maritime Museum Dry Docks in Fremantle. I was on my way to the South Mole Lighthouse when we passed by the dry docks. At the spot where I was standing, I thought the position of the sun and this magnificent vessel quietly sitting on the dry docks would make a good photo.

Camera used: Canon PowerShot SX20 IS

This photograph was taken in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Malaysia consist of 3 main ethnicities, Malays, Chinese and Indians. We celebrate every cultural celebration celebrated by each ethnicity. During Chinese New Year, this temple was decorated with hundreds of red lanterns. Photographers from all over the world flock to this particular temple in Kuala Lumpur known as Thean Hou Temple as it is situated on a hill overlooking the city of Kuala Lumpur where the scenery is amazing.

Ultimate Frisbee

Date Taken: 15/ 04/ 2011
Camera: Nikon D80

I joined Curtin Ultimate Frisbee on the first week of classes in Curtin College. This picture of my teammates was taken during the Tertiary Sports Western Australia (TSWA) Ultimate Frisbee competition. Unfortunately, I was not able to join them due to an injury sustained a week before. Even though I was out of the competition, I still went to give my support to my teammates (and I brought a camera along). Curtin went into the finals against UWA but didn't come out as champions. No matter the outcome, I am glad to be given the opportunity to train with some of the most talented athletes in Perth.

CHOGM Day 1

Date Taken: 28/ 10/ 2011
Camera: Nikon D80

On the 28th of October all eyes were on Perth for the Commonwealth Heads Of Government Meeting . Me and a fellow classmate went to the City to cover CHOGM as well as other activities in conjunction with CHOGM. This picture is of a New South Wales police officer on duty on Adelaide terrace. She was directing diplomatic traffic. By standers were lining up at the barriers, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Queen Mother herself.

South Mole Lighthouse at sunset.

Date Taken: 15/ 09/ 2011
Camera: Canon PowerShot SX20 IS

Was in Fremantle with a couple of friends. We decided to catch the sunset at the South Mole Lighthouse. The sky had a beautiful glow to and I couldn't resist taking a picture. The two people seen standing in the photograph are actually my friends.

Fremantle Street

Date taken: 15/ 09/ 2011
Camera: Canon PowerShot SX20 IS

I went on an outing with my housemates to Fremantle. While walking up towards the Fremantle Round House, there was a street which looked like a typical street you may see in Metropolitan London. This photograph was shot in Black and White mode.

Hello.

Hello,

This blog is about pictures I've taken over the years. Basically, I upload a picture a day, everyday. With every picture there will be details as well as a caption explaining the photograph. There'll be a twitter account linked to this blog and possibly a Flickr account as well.
Without further a due, here goes nothing.
